Dives on the Cooper River require the scheduling of dives to be coordinate with the local tidal flows. Diving the in-coming flooding tide usually gives the best visibility, but depending on the day of your scheduling may be on a out going tide. (Like a few inches or a foot makes that much of a difference) We will do our best to make sure that your diving adventure is enjoyable as possible which will provide the diving artifact hunter with the best chance of taking home some fossilized shark teeth, artifacts or bones. 6 pack priced at $85 per diver. sm-alpha.gif (881 bytes)

In the Southeast, there is probably nothing more exciting than a dive into the waters of the Cooper River. At times, the dark swift moving current flows as fast as 3 knots, treating scuba divers to an exhilarating drift diving experience. On drift dives because of the current and limited visibility, divers must be practiced at the art of the buddy system or else be prepared to dive on their own if the current separates them from their buddies. If divers prefer, two dift dives can also be done on the 2 Tank Dive Charter Trip, one each on the flooding and ebbing tidal flows.6 pack priced at $85 per diver

Depending on a divers air consumption some may enjoy a max bottom time of three hours or more on your trip. Doing three dives along the Cooper requires that at least one dive be a drift dive. By coordinating the dive times with the rivers tidal flows, divers can perform two anchored dives on fossil bed sites to hunt for artifacts and sharks teeth, and one drift dive dive along the river. The Drift dive will allow divers to cover more area by allowing the rivers current to do the work will the diver searches for artifacts and teeth. The river bottom at times changes with local shallow shoaling of areas. This shoaling caused by the tidal flows at times covers and uncovers area of the river with sand. By doing a drift dive allows divers a chance to discover these newly shoaled area and hopefully find some great teeth.6 pack priced at $95 per diver.sm-alpha.gif (881 bytes)
